Ikonick Falcon
About the Work
The Ikonick Falcon, an imposing piece of metal art, was initially conceptualized for the Big Boys Toys trade show in Las Vegas, scheduled for fall 2020. Kevin Stone, the creator of this masterpiece, was contacted by the show's promoters, who offered him a chance to showcase his work to an international audience. Given the exceptional location, Kevin seized the opportunity to exhibit his larger-than-life art pieces. Kevin and his wife Michelle decided to create a striking stainless steel bird of prey for the show, despite not having a sculpture ready for display at that moment. Although Kevin had previously crafted various eagles, he believed a falcon would offer a unique yet appealing variation. The construction of the Falcon, carried out by Michelle and Kevin, took a total of nine months. However, as the COVID-19 pandemic started to unfold, causing widespread lockdowns and business shutdowns, the Big Boys Show was inevitably canceled. Consequently, Kevin and Michelle returned to their hotrod shop and resumed building cars. Several months following the completion of the Falcon, Kevin was approached by a client who expressed interest in Drogon the Dragon from the TV series "Game of Thrones." As Kevin and Michelle began constructing the dragon and shared progress updates on social media, a businessman from Miami reached out with an interest in purchasing the dragon. Kevin clarified that the Dragon was a commissioned piece and not for sale. Nonetheless, Kevin proposed the stainless-steel Falcon, which he had been holding onto, hoping to find a buyer. After a series of discussions and negotiations, the Falcon was eventually sold and transported to Miami. Presently, the Falcon is on display at the Ikonick collection and gallery, available for public viewing.
