Elon Goat Monument
About the Work
Kevin was contact in early 2022 by Danny Wang, a famous designer from Southern California to commission this sculpture for one of his clients: a 50ft Goat with Elons head riding a rocket on the back of a semi trailer. The owners of the sculpture run a cryptocurrency firm out of Phoenix Arizona called Elon Goat Token (EGT) and say it is meant to pay homage to Musk's contributions to cryptocurrency. The sculpture is intended to symbolize that Musk is the GOAT of Crypto — an acronym for Greatest Of All Time — which is why the billionaire's head is on the body of a goat.
It sits on the back of a semi-trailer and is more than 30 feet long, 20 feet tall, and Musk's head ( created by Kevin and his wife Michelle), which is wearing a Dogecoin necklace, is about 6 feet tall. The all Aluminum sculpture also includes such features as simulated rocket fire, smoke, lasers, and lighting with Music.
Costing a total of $600,000, according to Elon GOAT Token, the Musk sculpture is a nod to the billionaire’s fame — a rocket representing SpaceX, the spacecraft company Musk founded. The project took almost a year to complete, Spectical fabrication took on the technical work for the rocket and body being mounted to a trailer, while Kevin and Michelle focused on constructing the head.
The project gained world wide media coverage and although Elon never accepted the gift from EGT it did make Michelle and Kevin the most published artists of 2022.
